The paintings and wood carving works of local artist, Mineshi Itadani, are exhibited in a magnificent gassho style house.
A typical 1900s gassho style house that was relocated from the no longer extant Kazura district of Shirakawa village. The building now exhibits a number of paintings of gassho style houses by Mineshi Itadani, the artist who owns the house. Also on display are a number of his woodcarvings and precious woods from Shirakawa-go. The architectural beauty of the house, together with the bold compositions and delicate finesse of the artist’s works, exude a unique atmosphere.
